Deze kommen zijn gemaakt om de schoonheid van het alledaagse te vieren en bedoeld om je dagelijkse koffie of thee tot een ritueel te maken.

Ze zijn geïnspireerd op de traditionele 'chawan' (cha - thee, wan - kom) die al eeuwenlang door Aziatische ambachtsmasters gemaakt worden voor theeceremonies. 

Iedere kom is uniek en met de hand gemaakt in mijn studio. Bijzondere aandacht is uitgegaan naar de vorm, zodat deze lekker in je hand ligt, en fijn is om uit te drinken. Deze kommen zijn ook geschikt voor je cappuccino, latte of koffie. 
 
Maakproces
Deze kommen zijn gedraaid op de draaischijf. De volgende dag is de voet afgewerkt en de definitieve vorm bepaald. Het duurt een week voordat de kom droog genoeg is voor de oven. Deze stookt in 24 uur op tot 1000 graden. Daarna is de kom geglazuurd met een speciaal ontwikkeld Tenmoku glazuur. Het tweede glazuur (Shino) is stijver dan de Tenmoku en zorgt voor een unieke tekening tijdens het smeltproces in de tweede stook. 
 
Deze serie bestaat uit unieke stuks. De maat verschilt per kom en staat bij de productinformatie.

These bowls are made to celebrate the beauty of every day and are meant to make your daily tea, match or coffee a ritual.

The bowls are inspired by the 'chawan' (cha - tea, wan - bowl), traditionally used in tea ceremonies. Each bowls is unique and completely handmade in my studio. This way each bowl gets its own identity and character.
 
Special attention has been paid to the shape so that the chawan lies comfortably in your hand and is pleasant to drink from. The chawans are of course also suitable for your daily cappuccino, latte or coffee.
 
Making proces

The chawans are wheel-thrown. The foot is finished the day after. It takes a week for the chawan to be dry enough for the oven. The kiln heats it to 1000 degrees in 24 hours. After cooling down the chawan is glazed with a specially developed Tenmoku glaze. The second glaze (Shino) is stiffer than the Tenmoku and provides a unique drawing during the melting process in the second firing.
